A successful platform stands or falls with the quality of our host families. In this start-up phase we focus entirely on selecting, supporting and onboarding hosts like you. This brings unique advantages:
- No rushed start: While our developers and worldwide payment systems go through the last technical tests, you have all the time to set up your listing calmly and perfectly down to the last detail.
- Weekly, controlled expansion: Our network grows steadily and deliberately. We believe in organic, high-quality growth instead of massive, anonymous volumes. That keeps the authenticity intact.
- Early visibility: As soon as our worldwide marketing campaigns start and the booking channels for guests open, our pre-launch hosts are right at the front.
How does it work? Your step-by-step plan to the first booking
As a pre-launch host you are guided by us from day one. As soon as your registration is complete, you can get started right away in your personal dashboard with the following three steps:
1. Share your story (Profile Completion)
Log in and tell travelers who you are. Share stories about your family, your culture and your unique neighborhood. Guests don't book anonymous rooms with us; they book an authentic, local experience.
2. Show your nest (High-Quality Photos)
Upload clear, bright photos of the accommodation, the common areas and the immediate surroundings. A welcoming and clear picture says more than a thousand words.
3. Your home, your rules (Availability & Rules)
Easily set your own calendar availability and indicate in which currency you want to show your rates.
Important: protect your own income
Because guests pay the remaining 75% of the price directly to you on arrival, LocalNest does not hold this money. On our platform you are therefore completely free to set your own cancellation and payment conditions in your house rules.
You can, for example, choose to ask guests in advance for a deposit by bank transfer to guarantee their dates. You keep full control.

Our team reviews every registration in this pre-launch phase personally. We look carefully at the presentation and the match with our community values. We keep you closely informed with regular status updates on the progress towards the official launch for guests.
Note on cancellations: To keep the platform running, LocalNest applies a tiered refund policy to the 25% booking fee that the guest pays to the platform when booking. Depending on when the guest cancels, this fee covers (partly or fully) our administrative and operating costs for the mediation. Read the cancellation policy.
